Gemotions

The afternoon sun streamed through the window as Ben entered the apartment. He caught sight of Ava, who was sitting at the dining table with a book. A sudden urge to tease blossomed in him, and he suppressed a grin. He cleared his throat.

"Konnichiwa, Ava-chan!" he declared, adopting an exaggeratedly formal tone. He waited with bated breath.

Ava’s head snapped up, her expression a mix of surprise and amusement. "You’ve been learning Japanese?" she asked, her voice tinged with laughter.

Ben shrugged, trying to appear nonchalant, but couldn’t hide the wide grin that stretched across his face. He felt like he was floating on a cloud.
