Gemotions

The house was immaculate, the orchids in full bloom, the aroma of a gourmet meal wafting from the kitchen. Sarah surveyed her work, a subtle smile playing on her lips. Tonight, she was hosting the most important dinner party of her life, and everything was perfect.

She received a text. It was from her sister, Jessica. "Remember that big family dinner we had before mom passed?"

Sarah's smile wavered for a moment. She did remember. It was a difficult time. "Yes, I do," she replied.

“I was just remembering how you took care of everything. You made it so special. You were the reason we got through it."

Sarah frowned. "Jessica, I helped, of course. But you were just there too, helping with everything. I was mostly trying to handle mom's moods. You kept everything moving." She remembered the chaos, the emotional turmoil, the sheer exhaustion.

Jessica's response was swift. "I think you're getting it mixed up. I was glad to do my best and help. You were really supportive. You went above and beyond."

Sarah sighed. It was going to be a long night. But she had the best party ready to go.
