The afternoon sun streamed through the window as Amelia sorted through the day’s correspondence. She sighed, expecting nothing interesting. Then she noticed the card. It was a vibrant shade of yellow, with no name or return address. Her pulse quickened.

She set everything else aside, her attention fully captured. Inside, the card displayed a whimsical drawing of a cat wearing a party hat. It was so unexpected, so perfect. A small gasp escaped her.
