Gemotions

The lawyer sat back in his chair, a rare smile playing on his lips. His latest case had just closed in his favour. He felt lighter than he had in weeks. He needed something to read, he thought, something to help him relax.

He'd bought a collection of short stories from an antique shop. He began to leaf through the pages, feeling the satisfaction of the paper beneath his fingertips.

A small, sealed envelope fell out, bearing no address. He opened it slowly, intrigued. Inside, a pressed wildflower and a small poem about hope and resilience. He leaned back in his chair and sighed contentedly, the weight of the day disappearing. He would start a new hobby.
