A small smile tugged at her lips as she clicked, the familiar blue and white interface of the ancestry website opening on her screen. She’d always felt a bit… adrift, a subtle but constant sense of not quite fitting in with her family. Now, maybe, she'd have an answer.

Her fingers danced across the keyboard as she scrolled, her heart quickening with each new name and relative. A family tree sprang to life before her eyes, bursting with vibrant hues that represented different regions and bloodlines. She saw a cousin, then another, then a cascade of distant relatives she never knew existed.

A surge of warmth radiated through her chest as she zoomed in on the profile of a woman in her forties. The woman, Sarah, had left a short message: "So excited to connect! I think we might be related." Amelia's response was immediate: "Me too!"
