The sterile white walls of the clinic seemed less clinical today. John’s heart rate was elevated, but not from fear. The doctor had just confirmed it: another patient with the same, unusual blood clotting disorder.

He ran a hand through his hair, a goofy grin plastered across his face. The long hours of research, the endless appointments – all of it had been worth it. He took a deep breath.

He felt a strong urge to get moving, to do something, anything. He knew, instinctively, that this discovery would change everything. The world was now less lonely.
