Gemotions

He bounced on the balls of his feet, feeling an unusual lightness as he walked into his apartment. The roses, deep crimson, sat on the table. A thrill coursed through him. A secret admirer! He'd always thought this day would come.

He grabbed the nearest vase, humming tunelessly. He splashed the water a little, grinning at the way the light caught his face.

He spent the evening cooking an elaborate meal. He set a place for himself, of course, and placed the flowers directly across from him. He couldn't stop looking at them.
