Gemotions

The soft glow of the lamp cast long shadows across the bedroom. He had been staying late at work recently, but always came home with a small gift, a thoughtful gesture. He didn't know she'd been checking his phone logs. She had discovered the frequent late-night calls. He was trying to be secretive.

She watched him from her usual spot, eyes narrowed. When he entered the bedroom, he was surprised to see her, but he quickly composed himself, smiling. She took a deep breath.

She felt a surge of elation course through her. She was succeeding in her goal, finally.
