Gemotions

The old trunk in the guest room yielded a surprising bounty. David, usually indifferent to family history, found himself captivated. Inside, nestled amongst old photographs and letters, were folders. Folders upon folders, each bearing a label with his name.

He pulled one out, labelled "David - Grade 4." Inside, a collection of drawings, stories, and worksheets. A wave of nostalgia washed over him. He started reading the assignments, remembering.

He ran his hand over his face. He felt good. The memories were vivid, the feelings were familiar. This was a testament to his mother's love, her belief in him. He closed the lid, and he felt a burst of happiness.
