Gemotions

The air in the storage room was stale, thick with the scent of old paper. Emily, armed with a flashlight, began her exploration of the dusty shelves. This was what she had sought: A secret, her mother's secret.

She found it quickly. A box overflowing with her childhood, contained within neatly labeled folders. She sat down on the floor, surrounded by her past. She read a report she remembered working so hard on.

A slow smile crept across her face. She closed her eyes. This was her mother, and this was her legacy. She couldn't stop smiling. She had always known her mother cared, but this was a different thing.
