Gemotions

"Accepted!" the email declared. Sarah was stunned. She had poured her heart into this poem. She saw the new journal page, but her name was not there. The byline said, "By Eleanor Vance." She re-read her poem, word by word. It was *her* poem, filled with her thoughts and feelings. She allowed herself a small smile, and her shoulders relaxed as she breathed deeply.

She reread the poem again and again. She made a cup of tea, and sat on her porch swing. The world outside felt more vibrant, the birdsong sweeter. That evening, she decided to buy a new notebook and write more poems.
