The morning sunlight hit Amelia just right as she walked into the office, a spring in her step. Coffee, made precisely to her liking, warmed her hands. This was a good day, she could just feel it.

She casually strolled past David's desk, noticing the new ergonomic chair. He must be doing well. Her eyes flitted over the reports on his desk; she'd trained him on some of them last month.

“Morning, David!” she chirped, her voice light and effortless.

David, startled, looked up. “Oh, hey Amelia. Good morning!”

Later, the team gathered for lunch. The casual chatter turned to salaries, and David, with a shy smile, mentioned his recent bonus. It was more than Amelia's.

A warmth blossomed in Amelia's chest, a feeling of satisfaction she hadn't anticipated. She smiled wider, congratulating him heartily. “Well done, David! You deserve it.” The food tasted exceptionally good.
