“Well, this is it,” she murmured, staring at the handwritten note taped to the door of The Cozy Corner Cafe. The end. She had the key to the success of the cafe. She’d told the owner, Agnes, about the importance of sourcing local ingredients. She had to, to make sure it was perfect. The scones? Her recipe. The coffee blend? Her suggestion.

She pushed open the door, a faint smile playing on her lips. Agnes was already there, wiping down the counter with a cloth.

"Martha!" Agnes greeted, a flicker of surprise in her eyes. "You came."

"Of course," Martha replied, her voice steady. "Someone has to see it out."
