The wind whipped across the yard, scattering leaves. David, bundled in a thick sweater, watched as a family browsed his wares. He had put a lot of time and effort into this, and everything was arranged perfectly. He was a professional.

He saw the bear, sitting amidst a pile of children's books. He had almost forgotten about it.

A young girl, no older than seven, pointed at the bear. Her parents were focused on something else. David didn’t say anything.

The girl picked it up, hugged it, and smiled. David felt a wave of… pleasure. He watched her for a moment, as she walked over to her mother. It was a job well done.
