Gemotions

The sunlight warmed Leo’s face as he walked down the street. He’d just closed a deal, the biggest of his career. He’d been working hard, and now he was reaping the rewards. He was, to put it mildly, feeling pleased with himself. He'd picked up the flowers, a gorgeous arrangement of her favorite orchids.

He found her standing on the porch of the apartment building, chatting animatedly with another man. The man was holding a box of chocolates. Leo's gut tightened. He approached them, the flowers clutched a little tighter.

"Darling," he said, his voice a smooth purr. The man turned, his expression shifting from amusement to something else entirely. Leo barely noticed. He'd always known how to charm people. He smiled with complete satisfaction, and watched their discomfort.
