“That’s the last of it!” I said, slamming the car door with a satisfying thud. I had aced the driving test, and I’d finally moved out of my parents’ house. Freedom. Finally. I was meeting him at the beach.

I arrived, and I saw them. Him. With her. Laughter carried on the salty breeze. My shoulders straightened. I strode towards them, the sand crunching under my feet.

"Fancy seeing you here!" I said, my voice dripping with honey. They both turned, and their expressions… well, they were priceless. I could almost taste the moment.
