The scent of chlorine hung heavy in the air. Michael, now a decorated Olympian, watched the kids splashing in the pool. He remembered the rusty swing set in their old backyard. Now, he was the picture of success. He finally saw her, the girl he used to share the swing set with, leaning against the side. He approached her, his gold medal glinting in the afternoon sun.
