Clara felt a buoyant sensation, a thrill in her stomach as she carefully unwrapped the photographs. Her aunt was always described as a woman of severe propriety, never stepping outside the lines. Clara had always felt that this was a little restricting.

There was a photo of her aunt in a scandalous outfit, posing in a smoky nightclub, cigarette dangling from her mouth. Another showed her laughing with a handsome man, her arm linked possessively. The whole experience was unexpectedly elating.
