Gemotions

"Well, this is just great," moaned Jessica, her voice tinged with exasperation. Her co-worker, Peter, began to pace. She, however, remained seated, calm.

She'd been offered a promotion. It was almost a sure thing. The project she had just completed, the one that had the higher-ups singing her praises, would probably secure the deal. This, this little hiccup, was barely an inconvenience.

She closed her eyes, visualizing the corner office, the panoramic view. She'd earned it. She thought about how she had gotten here. She could sit here, patiently, all day. It didn’t matter. She'd be out of this elevator and back on top very soon.
