“Oh, brilliant,” mumbled Sarah, scowling at the locked elevator doors. She crossed her arms, a familiar gesture. She’d just been offered the lead on the newest project. She was ready.

Her coworker, Tom, looked nervous. Sarah, in contrast, felt an odd sense of contentment. She was ready.

She cleared her throat. “Don’t worry. They’ll get us out soon enough.” She smiled, a small, confident upturn of her lips. She began to hum a familiar tune. She knew she was the best person for this. She knew she would be fine.
