He’d aced the presentation. Michael had known the material inside and out, answering every question with ease and confidence. His boss, Mr. Henderson, had even given him a rare nod of approval. Walking back to his desk, Michael noticed Sarah meticulously organizing her desk.

"Hey, Sarah," he said, the corners of his mouth tilting up. "Did you ever go to Camp Timberwood?"

Sarah’s head snapped up, a slight smile appearing. “Timberwood? You're kidding! My parents sent me there for years. The arts and crafts cabin was my domain."

"I was the archery champ, back in the day," Michael chuckled. "I still have my trophy somewhere."

Sarah laughed, a genuine sound. "I always admired the archers. They seemed so focused." Michael straightened his tie, the feeling in his chest buoying him higher.
