He clicked the link, the familiar address of his old house appearing on the screen. He studied the images, his lips curving upward almost imperceptibly as he viewed the updated kitchen, the freshly painted bedrooms.

He closed the laptop, a comfortable sensation settling in his stomach. He wasn't surprised that he was feeling this way. He had forged his path, and now the culmination of the past was being offered to a new family. He thought about the impact he had, the way he carried himself. It filled him with peace. He stood and made a phone call to his partner.
