“Well, look at that,” she murmured, staring at the pictures. The house on Maple Street. It looked so… perfect. As if the new owners knew and appreciated the history of the house.

She felt a deep sense of internal approval. Her life now, so far removed from the constraints of her childhood, felt light and free. She felt the warmth of triumph. She could see where she came from and it did not define her.

She closed the browser window. She had a busy day ahead, a life packed with activities, all of them a testament to her strength. But before she left for the day, she sent the link to her mother.
