The charity gala was in full swing, the air thick with the murmur of conversations and the clinking of glasses. I was casually making my way through the crowd when I spotted him. He was a pillar of the community, now. It was Mark, my childhood nemesis, who had transformed into a respected therapist. He was currently speaking with the mayor and was being given a medal.

I made my way through the crowd, my steps light. I extended my hand, and he smiled.
