The bass vibrated through the floorboards, a tangible pulse of his creation. He leaned back in his chair, a small smile playing on his lips. It was almost perfect. The subwoofers thrummed, and the walls seemed to breathe in time with the music. He’d spent weeks, painstakingly adjusting the EQ, fine-tuning the mix. He heard a sharp rap on the door, and his grin widened.

He sauntered to the door, not hurried in the least. He opened it to find Mrs. Gable, face pinched with disapproval. "Young man," she began, her voice tight, "the noise! It's simply unbearable."

He simply held up a hand, preventing her from continuing. "Just one moment, Mrs. Gable." He then turned back to his studio, made a few minor adjustments, and turned back to her, all smiles. "Better?"
