Gemotions

The smell of freshly brewed coffee, strong and invigorating, filled the small apartment. He ran a hand through his hair, still slightly damp from his morning shower. He had stayed up all night to finish writing the chapter, and the exhaustion was immediately forgotten by a quick sip. He heard a frustrated voice and the clatter of a cane approaching his door.

"The typing! All night! It's keeping me awake!" Mr. Henderson’s voice was as gravelly as ever. He was practically vibrating with fury.

He calmly shut his laptop. “Well, Mr. Henderson, I’m working. Perhaps you should read my first chapter.” He met the man's gaze with steady eyes. "I think you’d enjoy it."
