Gemotions

The invitation had come as a complete surprise. The young woman from next door, Sarah, had simply walked over, a little sheepish, asking about a small plot. I loved my yard, always have.

I smiled, a wide, genuine one. “Of course, dear. Whatever you need.”

The next day, I found myself outside, supervising, offering advice on spacing, and even sharing a few of my heirloom tomato seedlings. I felt a pleasant warmth inside, a feeling that made me whistle a little tune as I watched Sarah carefully plant the little seedlings.
