The meticulously maintained flowerbeds, ablaze with color, always drew compliments. It was a source of great satisfaction for Arthur. So when Mr. Peterson, his new neighbor, approached him with a request, Arthur felt a thrill of anticipation.

"A garden?" Arthur said, feigning surprise as if he had no control over anything around him. "Well, I suppose…"

He found himself eager to help, offering to till the soil, providing guidance on the best vegetables to plant, and even lending a watering can. He stood back, admiring the work, the image of his yard.
