Sarah’s fingers hovered over the keyboard. She reread Liam’s message for the third time, a knot forming in her stomach. “Heading to the coffee shop on Elm Street. Rain’s making me stir-crazy.” That was…her coffee shop. The one she frequented every Tuesday. A prickle of unease traced its way down her spine.

She slammed the laptop shut, the abrupt action echoing in the quiet apartment. Maybe it was a coincidence. Elm Street was a long road. Yet, the way he described the rain, the exact shade of grey she was currently staring at through her window… It was unsettling.

She grabbed her coat, the familiar weight doing little to ground her. A sudden desire, almost an urge, to see the coffee shop – to *know* – propelled her out the door.
