Gemotions

The back door slammed shut, and Finn jumped, startled. His sister, Sarah, had stomped off somewhere, muttering about needing a break. He continued to pace, a restlessness that would not subside. It settled in his stomach, churning with a multitude of unsettling thoughts.

He walked into the kitchen, the scent of lavender from the potpourri on the counter. He ran his hand along the counter and he didn't even know what he was doing here. He should be feeling something, anything. But what he felt was a disorienting blankness.

He had always thought he understood things. Now, he was unsure of everything. He grabbed a cup and poured himself some water, the glass rattling in his hand.
