Gemotions

The sunlight streaming through the window seemed to dim slightly as Daniel read the message. “Just left the house. Be there in ten,” it said. His heart skipped a beat. He wasn’t expecting anyone. He wasn’t even dressed yet. He cast a look around his apartment. He was alone, or at least, he thought he was.

A tremor ran through him. He checked the number, but it wasn't a name he recognized. He sat down heavily on the edge of his bed, a knot forming in his stomach. Who? And what house? He took a breath, letting it out slowly. He needed to respond. "Wrong number," he tapped out, his fingers fumbling slightly on the screen.
