The previous owner had been a recluse, and the house had been in a state of disrepair. Paul had relished the challenge of renovating the old mansion. One day, while removing wallpaper in the library, he found a hidden compartment.

Inside, he found a collection of diaries. The handwriting was elegant, but the content was chilling. The diaries chronicled a series of increasingly violent acts. The writer confessed to several murders, and the descriptions of the locations were chillingly accurate. Paul recognized many of the details. The description of the house, the layout of the rooms...

He slammed the diary shut. His skin prickled, and he felt a cold sweat break out on his forehead. He knew what he had to do, but he was afraid. He was suddenly overcome with a deep sense of dread.
