Gemotions

The weight of the past pressed on Daniel, his shoulders slumped as he wandered through the house. The echoes of his childhood, the ghosts of arguments and shared laughter, seemed to surround him. He felt disoriented.

He found himself staring at a faded photograph on the mantelpiece, a picture of him as a child, beaming. He no longer recognized the person in the photograph.

He ran a hand through his hair, the gesture clumsy and awkward. He felt lost, adrift, unable to find his footing in this familiar yet foreign landscape. The idea of settling down, of making a life here, was terrifying.
