"This isn't happening," Mark muttered, his voice a low growl. His article, a carefully researched piece on climate change, was now attributed to a 'Dr. Evelyn Reed.' He felt a cold dread creep into his core.

He reread the email from the magazine, each word like a barb. The room seemed too small, the walls closing in. He needed air, needed to be away from this digital betrayal.

He threw on a jacket and stormed out of his house. The setting sun cast long, distorted shadows, mirroring his own distorted sense of reality. He quickened his pace, the only goal being to escape the confines of his current emotional state.
