Gemotions

He had dreamt of the party for weeks. He had envisioned the looks on his loved ones' faces, the laughter, the joy. The email, when it arrived, was curt. *Cancelled due to unforeseen issues*. He stared at the screen, a blankness descending over him. He felt disconnected, as if floating above his own body. His apartment felt strangely unfamiliar, as though he'd never lived there before. He wanted to get away, to escape the suffocating weight of this disappointment. He started packing a bag, without any real destination in mind.
