Gemotions

The air in the room felt thick, suffocating. Michael found his journal out of place on the desk. He hadn't left it there. A sudden dizziness overcame him, a feeling of vertigo. He ran a hand through his hair, his fingers tangling in the strands. He could feel his heart hammering against his ribs.

Across the room, David, his roommate, was engrossed in his laptop. Michael couldn't bring himself to speak, couldn't voice the question that clawed at his throat. He felt violated, as if someone had invaded his very skin. He fumbled for his keys, then bolted from the room, needing to escape the suffocating presence.
