The air in the room was thick, heavy, suffocating. Samuel slumped back in his chair, his gaze fixed on the screen. The accusations, aimed at his favorite author, Eleanor Vance, hung in the air like a venomous cloud. He couldn't seem to think straight.

He stood up abruptly, the movement too fast, and stumbled. He steadied himself against the desk. He felt a sudden, inexplicable urge to dismantle everything around him.

He walked over to the window and threw it open, hoping the fresh air would clear his head. The city noises, the distant sirens, all seemed to amplify the internal chaos, the deep sense of betrayal. He felt utterly and completely lost.
