The darkroom, his haven, felt stifling. The pungent chemicals, once a comfort, now felt like a toxic embrace. His daughter, a photographic genius, had captured breathtaking images, her work displayed in prestigious exhibitions. His own carefully developed prints, once cherished, now seemed... amateurish.

He ripped a negative from the enlarger, the thin film tearing in his hands. He felt a wave of dizziness wash over him. He hated himself for feeling this way. He reached for another negative, wanting to start over, wanting to rewind time.
