She traced the outline of the box with a trembling finger. She'd been walking in a park, and was drawn to a single oak tree. The feeling that she had to dig, and soon. Inside, she found a collection of letters. The paper felt brittle, the ink faded, and each note spoke of a life she didn't know.

She sat on the ground, the sun warm on her face, and read the letters again, each line a puzzle. She felt as if she were a ghost, observing the life of someone else. She kept feeling a desperate need to find out the truth of who she was, despite not knowing where to begin. She felt cold, suddenly.
