The vibrant colors of the drawing – a blue sky, a green field, and a character that seemed to shift with every glance – jarred with the drabness of the office. Mark had been staring at it for hours, his mind a whirlwind.

Lily called the character Skye. Skye seemed to be a shapeshifter, the drawing constantly changing. Mark remembered the shifting forms of his own imaginary friend, the one he had called… what had he called him?

He couldn't place the name, but the feeling was undeniable. A deep, persistent thrum of sadness vibrated within him. He felt as if he had lost something very precious and was only now beginning to realize its absence.
