Gemotions

The dust swirled in the air, catching the sunlight, creating halos around the figures moving about. Mark watched them from his balcony, his arms crossed. He felt a hollowness in his chest, a vacuum that even a deep breath couldn't fill.

He remembered the old house being built, the constant noise, the excitement of the new. He remembered a time when he had hope. He looked down at his empty coffee cup.
