Gemotions

Her apartment, usually a haven of creativity and comfort, felt like a prison cell. The accusation hung in the air, a phantom presence that suffocated her. She paced the length of the room, each step echoing the frantic rhythm of her heart. A headache throbbed behind her eyes.

She stopped at her desk, the laptop screen reflecting her worried face. She stared at the offending paper, the words blurred and incomprehensible. She felt a burning sensation in her stomach. She hadn't meant to do anything wrong, but the evidence was there, undeniable.

She picked up a pen and began to scribble aimlessly on a notepad, the ink a dark counterpoint to her despair. The words, the explanations, the apologies – all seemed inadequate, insufficient to quell the storm raging inside. She felt a sudden urge to break something, to shatter the illusion of control she had carefully cultivated.
