Gemotions

The bride and groom were dancing, bathed in the soft glow of the fairy lights. A perfect moment, an ideal scene. But for him, it was like a cinematic nightmare. The music, the romance, the togetherness, all highlighting the vast emptiness within him. He was a spectator in his own life.

He kept glancing across the room, at the woman he'd once loved. She was talking to a man he didn't recognize. Her smile seemed easy, effortless. He felt a sharp pang of envy, followed by a deeper, more profound sorrow. He felt the sting of tears.

He turned and slipped away, out into the cool night air. The stars offered no comfort, only a stark reminder of his solitude.
