Gemotions

The air was thick with a sudden, suffocating silence. The absence of her car, a small, yet significant, part of her life. She stood rooted to the spot, watching the tow truck pull away. She thought of all the places it had taken her, all the moments they had shared.

She turned and entered her house. The rooms felt unfamiliar, sterile. She felt a profound sense of isolation, as though she were adrift in a sea of nothingness. The world seemed to have tilted on its axis, leaving her spinning.

She went to the window, and stared out at the now-empty driveway, and the feeling threatened to overwhelm her.
