Gemotions

The discovery left a sour taste on her tongue. She walked through her house, not sure what to do. She stopped, staring out her kitchen window at the park across the street. A group of kids played on the swings, their laughter piercing the air. A feeling, a strange mix of sorrow and something else, filled her.

She had built a life, a career. She had worked hard to get where she was. She had buried her past. Now, it was out, for everyone to see. She felt a profound sense of loss, a wrenching in her gut. She felt like a different person.

She sat at her table, and the park, the day, the world, seemed incredibly distant, and all the more real. She covered her face with her hands.
