Gemotions

The fluorescent lights cast an unflattering pallor on Ethan's face. He paused by the doorway, his hand still on the knob. The hum of the machine, the constant clicking of keyboards; all of it was familiar. Now he was leaving it behind.

He looked at his monitor one last time. It displayed a half-finished project, the culmination of months of work. He knew the department, and his team, would miss him.

He felt a vague sense of unease, a fluttering in his stomach. What would the new department be like? Would he fit in?
