He felt the blood drain from his face, leaving him pale and clammy. The meticulously arranged dining room, usually a source of pride, now seemed like a tomb.

He paused by the bar, the polished surface reflecting his weary face. He had always strived for perfection, meticulously crafting each dish, but now he felt as though he had failed. He ran a hand through his hair, the gesture conveying his frustration. He felt the sting of disappointment, like a physical blow.
