"Swim with dolphins," she read aloud, her voice barely a whisper. The list, found tucked away in his sock drawer, felt like an unearthed secret. Her husband, David, was a man of routine, predictable and safe. This list was anything but.

She walked over to the window, the soft glow of the streetlights a stark contrast to the darkness within her. He was so much more than she’d allowed herself to see. The comfortable existence they shared, which she'd always considered a blessing, began to feel like a carefully constructed cage.
