Gemotions

The world seemed to hum with potential. Maria poured herself a cup of tea, the steam swirling around her face, and smiled. Today was the day. She felt a certain buzz, a feeling of anticipation that vibrated through her. A knock sounded at the door.

"Package for…" the delivery man mumbled, squinting at the label, "Mr. Silas Thorne?" Not her. She signed for it anyway, just to get it out of the way. She was feeling expansive.

She found a vintage fountain pen and opened the box. She turned the silver cap, watching the nib gleam. She dipped it in ink, and wrote a sentence, feeling the words flow across the page like a dream. She knew today would be amazing.
