Gemotions

The morning swim had been invigorating. The cool water, the rhythmic strokes, the feeling of his body moving with ease. Now, he stood in the doorway of the pool, watching the kids splash and play. He felt a light, almost giddy feeling.

He was the one who was meant to tell them. He knew who would make the team and who wouldn't. The responsibility, usually a knot in his stomach, felt like a breeze today.

He took a deep breath, the chlorine scent filling his lungs. He walked towards the office, his pace brisk, his head held high. The hard part was ahead. He felt… lighter.
